1. Agree terms before you start
Put payment terms in your quote and repeat them on the invoice. Shorter terms (7 or 15 days) get paid sooner than Net 30.
2. Invoice the same day
The longer you wait to invoice, the longer you wait to be paid. Send it from your phone the moment the job is done.
3. Make paying one tap
Add a UPI QR code or a payment link to every invoice. Clients pay more readily when they don't have to type bank details.
4. Send it where your client reads
WhatsApp often gets a faster response than email. Share the invoice link where the conversation already happens.
5. Remind before it's late
A friendly reminder a few days before the due date prevents most late payments. Follow up on the day and a few days after, then more firmly.
6. Take deposits on big jobs
Ask for a part payment up front and record it on the invoice so the balance is always clear.
7. Know who's late
Check your unpaid invoices by age every week and follow up personally with anything over 30 days.
