Sales tax on invoices in United States
- There's no federal sales tax. Most states and many cities charge their own, and five states (Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon) have no statewide sales tax.
- Many services aren't taxed in many states, while physical goods usually are. Rules differ by state.
- Save each rate you charge once, and pick it per line on any invoice.
- Net 30 is the most common payment term for business clients.
