GST on invoices in India
- GST is split into CGST + SGST when the buyer is in your state, and charged as IGST when they're in another state. The place of supply decides which.
- Common GST rates are 0%, 5% and 18%, with 40% for a small set of goods and 3% for gold and silver.
- Registered businesses show their 15-character GSTIN; sales to other registered businesses show the buyer's GSTIN too.
- Larger businesses (aggregate turnover over ₹5 crore) must also generate e-invoices through the government portal.

Questions
Is this GST invoice format valid?
Invoicend includes the details GST rules ask for on a tax invoice: GSTINs, invoice number and date, HSN/SAC, taxable value, the CGST/SGST or IGST split and place of supply. You're responsible for entering correct details and rates, so check with your accountant if you're unsure.
Can I make a bill of supply or an invoice without GST?
Yes. Choose “No tax” or GST 0% on the items, or leave out your GSTIN if you're not registered.
Can clients pay by UPI?
Add your UPI ID in Settings and every unpaid invoice shows a UPI QR code for the exact amount due.
Does it make GSTR-1 files?
Yes. Reports gives you B2B, B2C and HSN summary files in the GST offline tool's CSV layout for any month or quarter.
